Throughout its service, the Curtiss P-36A Hawk was flown by 10 different pursuit groups both stateside and abroad. As part of the U.S. Army's fighter forces stationed at Pearl Harbor, a Hawk was credited with scoring the first kill by a U.S. combat aircraft in World War II.
