Description
Perhaps the most famous mission involving the F-111 Aardvark occurred on the night of April 14, 1986. Eighteen U.S. F-111s took off from a base in England and successfully attacked Libyan terrorist bases, with 2,000-pound laser-guided "smart" bombs.
This painting was originally commissioned to illustrate the Republic of the Marshall Islands 32¢ F-111 Aardvark stamp issued July 19, 1997.
