According to UNESCO, Mount Lushan, in Jiangxi, China, is one of the spiritual centers of Chinese civilization. Lushan National Park’s Buddhist and Taoist temples, along with landmarks of Confucianism, blend into a strikingly beautiful landscape which has inspired countless artists who developed the aesthetic approach to nature found in Chinese culture. Also known as Mount Lu or Mountain Lu National Park, Mount Lushan has an important place in Chinese history and culture. The significant cultural developments and political events occurring over the course of Lushan Mountain’s history have influenced the course of Chinese history.
