Description
The Dragon is the only mythical creature among the twelve animals of the Chinese Zodiac. A person born under this sign is thought to be full of vitality and enthusiasm. The Dragon is a popular individual even with the reputation of being foolhardy at times. Dragons are intelligent, gifted and perfectionists, but these qualities make them unduly demanding on others. The years of the Dragon are: 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024.
A native of Beijing, Zu Tianli developed her love of painting at an early age. Specializing in folk art at China's Central Institute of Art, she graduated in 1987 and began her career by working in the editorial department of China Photography magazine. Known for her colorful brushwork and captivating style, Zu Tianli is perhaps most famous for the spectacular design she created for China's Year of the Dragon stamp issued in January 1988.
