Description
On April 12, 1961, Yuri A. Gagarin blasted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome aboard Vostok I, becoming the first man in space. The young cosmonaut made one orbit of the Earth, witnessing two sunrises in just under two hours, and experiencing weightlessness for 89 minutes.
